NEWS: Opolis integrates with Aurora Blockchain to facilitate crypto compensation for independent workers

[DENVER, CO] June 6, 2023 – Opolis, a member-owned employment cooperative that uses blockchain to provide employment tech to independent workers, announced its integration with Aurora, an Ethereum-compatible blockchain and ecosystem that runs on the NEAR Protocol and powers the Aurora Cloud. The integration enables independent workers being paid USDC on the Aurora network to streamline their payments and provides greater access for Web3 workers to be compensated in their preferred currencies.

In today’s digital economy, entrepreneurs and freelancers deserve – and demand – autonomy over their employment, preserving the sense of security a traditional job offers while also having the financial flexibility that Web3 enables. This integration is set to provide Opolis members the ability to get paid directly on-chain in USDC.e and USDC on Aurora. Those working within the Aurora ecosystem will be able to fund their payroll with the earnings they make on the platform.

“We’re on the brink of a workplace revolution that will provide workers greater autonomy, flexibility, and satisfaction than a traditional ‘career’ ever could,” said John Paller, Executive Steward at Opolis. “What Opolis wants to do is empower people to work the way they please, and make all of the scary administrative stuff easy. This integration with Aurora furthers that goal by opening up access to the folks that prefer payment in digital currencies.”

This integration with Aurora is a step in the direction of Opolis’ mission to meet their members where they are – from all across the blockchain space – and provide them with their preferred payment options that make their work lives easier.

“The way people work is changing and we at Aurora are making shifts to accommodate that,” said Anton Paisov, Head of Integrations at Aurora. “We want the independent workers that are a part of our team to get paid in a way that suits their best interests and prioritizes the things that they value the most. This integration with Opolis makes that vision a reality.”
