Employee Membership

Employee Membership Eligibility

Employee Membership is the full employment stack — payroll, benefits, compliance, W-2. It requires an active S-Corp or C-Corp and a salary that meets your state's exempt minimum. Community Members upgrade when they're ready.

Community Membership

Open to anyone, anywhere. No entity required.

Employee Membership

Available in the U.S. for S-Corps or C-Corps.

"Set-and-forget" operators

Excellent at the work, no interest in becoming a payroll expert. The infrastructure runs automatically every month.

Stable contractor income

Consistent, recurring income meeting your state's exempt salary minimum — at least $43K federally, $60K+ for strong fit.

Community-minded independents

Opolis is a cooperative. Members share infrastructure, participate in governance, and benefit from the platform they collectively own.

Benefits are billed in addition to payroll. The minimum above covers exempt salary + employer taxes only. Electing health, dental, vision, or other benefits increases your monthly invoice accordingly. Plan your S-Corp salary with total cost in mind.

Honest Assessment

When Employee Membership isn't the right fit

We respect your time. Here are situations where you'll be better served elsewhere:

Highly complex tax strategies

Multi-entity arrangements, aggressive deductions, or advanced structuring — you need a CPA-led solution.

Irregular or very low income

Below your state's exempt minimum, highly variable income, or primarily project-based without recurring revenue.

DIY operators who want full control

Opolis is a cooperative. If the shared model doesn't resonate, the structure delivers less value than going it alone.

Expecting CPA or financial planning

Opolis handles payroll and benefits administration — not tax return prep, financial planning, or legal counsel.

Sound like the right fit?

Start with Community Membership and upgrade to Employee Membership when your S-Corp is in place.
